How legal professionals can help reimagine Nova Scotia

In this session, Dr. Adelina Iftene and Allison Hearns (JD '22) from the Schulich School of Law will discuss their recent report, Support and Protect, on how Nova Scotia has responded to the tumultuous events of 2020.  This report is part of the larger "reimagineNS" initiative led by Dalhousie University's Faculty of Management.  The "Support and Protect" project has involved an interdisciplinary look at the impacts of the pandemic, the mass shooting, and police brutality in Nova Scotia, as they relate to supportive and protective services including libraries, child protection, child care, income, housing, justice, public safety, and poverty.  The presentation will focus on the findings pertaining to justice and public safety, as well as the role of legal professionals in addressing the biggest issues of 2020 and reimagining Nova Scotia for the future.
