We look forward to welcoming you to the Kings County Bench & Bar Forum on Friday, October 23! This 1-day professional development conference is designed to bring together legal professionals from across Kings County, including the South Shore and the Annapolis Valley, for a full day of insightful discussions, practical learning, and meaningful networking.
The conference will begin with a Breakfast with the Bench, featuring Justice Aleta Cromwell, from the Supreme Court (Family Division), in Bridgewater, and Judge Mark Scott, who sits on the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia in Yarmouth.
Our full schedule is now available, and includes sessions on recruitment and retention in rural communities, technology, and substantive legal updates in the areas of family law, criminal law, and wills & estates. We are pleased to feature a lineup of speakers that includes leading practitioners from the region and from across Nova Scotia!
The Forum will conclude with the CBA-NS Empowering Bystanders Training, a practical, interactive 90-minute session already completed by hundreds of lawyers across the province. Through real-world scenarios, participants will learn concrete strategies to recognize and respond to inappropriate workplace behaviour and help foster a more respectful workplace culture.
