The CBA-NS Women Lawyers Forum (WLF) and the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) are pleased to invite you to our 3rd Annual International Women's Day Tea! This highly anticipated yearly event provides a space for women lawyers, judges, and legal professionals from across Nova Scotia to network, build connections, and uplift one another.
The IWD theme for 2026 is "Give to Gain" - encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration, this theme emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women increase. So many within our legal community give in profound ways, whether through their work advancing women's causes, their mentorship of new women lawyers, or their community involvement. We hope that this event will give a space to celebrate the spirit of giving we benefit from locally, and will foster opportunities for more connections.
We are pleased to have Chika Chiekwe as our keynote speaker at this event. Chika is a Partner with Cox & Palmer and is the 2024 recipient of the CBA-NS Community Service Award. Her extensive community involvement and tireless efforts to uplift others exemplifies the Give to Gain theme.
Thanks to generous support from Torys LLP and the Nova Scotia Barrister's Society (NSBS), this event is free for all to attend. We will gather in the beautiful new CBA-NS Office and look forward to delicious food from Crème Halifax, a local women-owned business.
