OBA Child & Youth Law & Education Law PROGRAM | Original Program Date: October 20, 2021

As signatories to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, Canada’s commitment to protecting children’s rights has developed over time to place significant importance on children’s participation and views.  How has this created synergies or tensions with other legal principles and how have courts and decision-makers handled this tension?

Our distinguished panel will discuss the specific legal provisions that reflect children and youth’s rights in legal proceedings, and its interplay with other legal provisions that limit these rights.
