Effectively Representing Indigenous Clients [WEBCAST ONLY]

Sep. 27, 2022
ON

OBA Aboriginal Law & Criminal Justice PROGRAM | 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM (ET)

Despite the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and caselaw recognizing the unique circumstances of Indigenous persons, realities on the ground still shows they are over-represented in the justice system. Lawyers need to know how to manage the file of an Indigenous client from start to finish, arrest to parole.  Our experts will share their experience and knowledge on understanding inter-generational trauma, ensuring consistent application of Gladue principles, and knowing about alternatives to incarceration. The knowledge shared will enhance the work you do for your client.
