A motion for summary judgment is a powerful tool for determining a matter before taking your client through the time and expense of trial.

The second of this two-part series is designed to provide you with the advocacy skills training you need to succeed in your next summary trial and summary judgment. The desired outcomes of part 2, which focuses on summary judgment, are:

  1. Mastering when and how to successfully pursue or defend summary judgment motions.
  2. Understanding Rule 20, its limits, and recent caselaw developments.
  3. Strategies for cross-examination on affidavits and how to structure oral arguments.
  4. Tips for how to prepare and use effective written and visual materials in written or oral submissions.
