OBA Health Law, and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Community PROGRAM | Original Program Date: November 19, 2024

In Ontario and across Canada, transgender, non-binary and gender diverse individuals continue to experience discrimination and barriers when accessing healthcare. In recognition of the International Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th, join us as our faculty of experienced professionals, who are working on the ground and in the courts to help community members realize their rights, share valuable insights on:

  • barriers that gender diverse people face in accessing care;
  • legal processes being used by and on behalf of trans/non-binary people to challenge the status quo, including HSARB appeals and HRTO applications; and
  • Tools and strategies lawyers can apply in their own practices to feel comfortable taking on cases on behalf of the trans and non-binary communities.
