OBA PROGRAM | 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM (ET)
Join the OBA’s Elder Law Section, in conjunction with the Parent & Caregiver Network, on June 25 for a special screening and discussion of the documentary Stolen Time. This documentary follows elder-rights lawyer Melissa Miller as she takes on the corporate for-profit nursing-home industry. As the legal battle unfolds, families, frontline caregivers and change-makers chronicle an urgent crisis with ramifications—and inspiration—for us all. View the trailer here https://vimeo.com/854829647.
For anyone who is a caregiver or may be at some point for a family member or friend, this documentary is a must-see, as it can assist you in navigating the corporate nursing-home industry.
Following the film, hear from Melissa Miller herself as she shares her thoughts on the film and the issues it unpacks. Melissa is an advocate for the most vulnerable members of our population, the elderly. Being certified in Elder Law, she concentrates her practice on nursing home negligence, long-term care cases and elder abuse, and is the founding member of the advocacy group Canadians4LTC.
