As extended producer responsibility (EPR) frameworks mature and circular economy mandates expand in Ontario, producers, municipalities, and service providers face a rapidly changing set of obligations across collection, diversion, recycling, reporting, and financial responsibility for EPR programs. Our faculty will discuss Ontario’s EPR regime under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, focusing on the Blue Box, tire and battery programs. They will provide insights on both producers’ and regulators’ responses to the recent regulatory changes affecting this system. Learn how to align commercial arrangements and interests to better meet system and regulator demands given the evolving statutory and regulatory requirements.
