Join the OBA’s Author Series on October 8 at 8:00 p.m. for a discussion with author Orlando Da Silva about his book, Thank God I Failed – A Lawyer’s Suicide Attempt and the Case Against Trying.
Thank God I Failed is a deeply personal, incredibly honest and well written book by former OBA President Orlando Da Silva. Orlando shared his story first during his presidency in 2014 through the OBA’s Opening Remarks Initiative in order to confront mental-health stigma in the justice sector. The Literacy Titan gave his book five stars and many reviews have come from both inside an outside of the profession. Thomas Conway, Partner at Conway, Baxter and former Treasure of the LSO noted it as a “must read”, Anita Szigeti, President of Law and Mental Disorder Association Canada said, “By wading in, he is saving lives” and Former Chief Justice of Ontario, George Strathy shared “In five decades at the bar and on the bench, I have never encountered a story so powerful and compelling. We have so much to learn from it.”
The book can be purchased on Amazon.
