Environmental & Resources Law: Working with Wildlife

Working with Wildlife is a practical presentation that provides lawyers with an environmental management perspective on wildlife management in the oil and gas sector, including how provincial and federal legislation, regulations, and guidelines are navigated, key gaps and practical implications. It focuses on common wildlife encountered during linear development (gas lines, powerlines, water lines etc.) in Saskatchewan and how to manage these requirements in a way that supports compliance while maintaining project efficiency. It also addresses real examples of wildlife interactions during work and the identification, reporting, and maintaining compliance during the interactions as well as the role of legal counsel in supporting risk management and regulatory navigation.
