On August 25, Kaycee Madu was appointed Minister of Justice and Solicitor General for the province of Alberta, the first Black Canadian to hold a provincial or federal justice position. Minister Madu speaks with CBA Alberta Vice President Bianca Kratt about taking on this role in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the legislative and administrative court reforms that have come about as a result, the fresh perspective he brings to the role, and his goals for the justice portfolio.
