The efficient administration of an estate depends on the participation of those connected to it – including its executor and beneficiaries. But what if an executor or beneficiary cannot be found? Or, more curiously still, what if the deceased cannot be found, nor their death confirmed? Catherine Bunio explores legal procedures and practical strategies for navigating these unusual circumstances, including passing over an executor, dispensing with P1 notice, and bringing proceedings under the Presumption of Death Act or Estates of Missing Persons Act.
