This session addresses the ethical and professional responsibilities of public sector and other lawyers when litigating against self-represented litigants. The presentation will also offer practice management tips and ideas to successfully grapple with related practice issues.

Fernando de Lima

Fernando is originally from Brazil where he practiced tax litigation before moving to Canada in 2006. He articled and practiced at Guild Yule LLP in Vancouver from 2011 to 2014, and then joined the Litigation Group of the B.C. Ministry of Attorney General. He has lectured extensively at the Faculties of Law and Engineering at UVic, including content on legal ethics and professionalism.
