The CBA Competition Law and Foreign Investment Review Section’s Criminal Matters Committee presents:
Effective Compliance with the Immunity and Leniency Programs
December 12, 2024 | 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)
The cooperation burden on immunity and leniency applicants is greater than ever before. At the same time, the Competition Bureau needs effective and thorough cooperation to make recommendations to the PPSC and pursue alleged wrongdoers. In these circumstances, maintaining an effective immunity and leniency program requires all parties to understand the burdens and challenges both sides face and look for best practices that overcome them. Hear from leading practitioners from the Bureau and the bar as they discuss topics like:
- Tips/pitfalls for proffers, witness interviews and document production
- What the Bureau wishes applicants and their counsel would do more / less of
- What applicants’ counsel wish the Bureau would do more / less of
- What steps the Bureau must complete internally during an immunity / leniency application, and what applicants and their counsel can do to make the process run more smoothly and quickly
