Building Trust: Practicing with a Trauma-Informed Lens (Recording)

According to Stats Can, almost two-thirds of adults living in Canada have reported being exposed to a potentially traumatic event at some point in their lives.

In the legal profession, trauma can show up in many ways—whether it stems from personal experience, the nature of our work, or the emotional weight we carry on behalf of clients. Yet, it’s a topic that often remains unspoken within firms and legal institutions.

This program explores how trauma intersects with the practice of law. From vicarious trauma experienced by lawyers to the risks of retraumatizing clients through the justice system, our presenters share insights on how to foster trust with clients, support your own well-being, and build communities of trauma-informed practice that help shift the culture of the profession.
