The CBA-NS Women Lawyers Forum (WLF) and the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) are pleased to invite you to our 3rd Annual International Women’s Day Tea, a highly anticipated event that brings together women lawyers, judges, students, and legal professionals from across Nova Scotia to connect, build community, and uplift one another, while reflecting the UN’s global focus on advancing rights and justice for all women and girls.
This year, our event celebrates the spirit of giving back, of using connections and resources to uplift one another. Across our legal community, this spirit is reflected in the many ways individuals advance women’s causes, mentor emerging lawyers, and engage in meaningful community work—efforts that align with global commitments to inclusive, equity-based progress. We hope this event will both celebrate the generosity we benefit from locally and create space for new connections to grow.
We are pleased to have Chika Chiekwe, Partner at Cox & Palmer and 2024 recipient of the CBA-NS Community Service Award, as our keynote speaker. We look forward to celebrating her extensive community involvement and tireless efforts to uplift others and hearing about her experience as a leader in our community.
Thanks to the generous support of Torys LLP and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (NSBS), this event is free to attend and will be held in the beautiful new CBA-NS office, featuring delicious food from Crème Halifax, a local women-owned business, and a photo wall by Beautiful Celebrations & Designs, a Black woman-owned business.
