Presented by the CBA Alberta Privacy & Access Law (South) Section
This section meeting will provide practical guidance for Alberta lawyers on the legal and operational response to privacy incidents and data breaches, focusing on best practices for managing compliance, maintaining privilege, and minimizing reputational harm. Attendees will learn about legal obligations under Canadian privacy law, effective incident response planning, and the unique role of breach counsel.
We will use real-world scenarios to illustrate how lawyers can help clients navigate regulatory reporting, stakeholder communications, and post-breach risk mitigation. These examples will provide practical guidance for Alberta lawyers on legal responses to privacy incidents and breaches, with a focus on compliance and privilege.
