
The Intersection of Bankruptcy and Family Law – Recent Cases and Practical Tips
Presented by the CBA Alberta Creditor & Debtor Law North Section
During the presentation, the following topics will be addressed: (a) recent cases dealing with the treatment of family property claims in bankruptcies, (b) claims relevant to family law that survive bankruptcy, (c) transfers at undervalue and setting aside Family Property Agreements, (d) issues related to Dower rights, and (e) what bankruptcy trustee are seeing on the ground, and what practical tips they have for lawyers.
