Heart and Brain Health: Awareness and Action
Presented by the CBA Alberta Elder Law (South) Section
This presentation explores what heart attacks and strokes are - how they occur and how they affect the body. It highlights key risk factors such as high blood pressure and introduces a new tool developed by Heart & Stroke to assess personal risk. We’ll review the signs and symptoms necessary to recognize a heart attack or stroke quickly. A brief look at the history of Heart & Stroke and the vital research happening right here in Alberta will show how treatment and prevention have improved over time. Finally, we’ll discuss why learning CPR can save lives and introduce Cardiac Crash - a brand new gamified program designed to make CPR efficient and engaging.
