Consent in Medical Malpractice
Presented by the CBA Alberta Health Law (North) Section
Issues of informed patient consent often arise in cases of medical malpractice. Most often, there is a dispute between the plaintiff patient and the defendant doctor about whether the plaintiff patient did, in fact, give informed consent. This discussion will consider the law of informed consent and how it is actually handled in medical malpractice cases.
