Inns of Court - Red Deer

Inns of Court is a program of informal discussion and 'dining out' on topic of interest to early-career barristers and follows the English tradition of dining with senior practitioners and judges. The event will give attendees the opportunity it hear presentations from distinguished speakers on topics that are most important to those in the early years of practice, while also dining with members of the judiciary while having casual conversations, asking questions, and being regaled with stories from the bench.

Topic: The Art of Persuasion: Elevating Advocacy Across Different Legal Settings

Persuasion is the cornerstone of effective advocacy, shaping outcomes in every stage of legal practice. This session will explore how honing advocacy skills enhances performance in the courtroom and in critical forums such as negotiations, mediations, and settlement conferences—including Mandatory Intake Triage, Civil Case Conferences, Estate Case Conferences, and Criminal Pre-Trial Conferences.
