Loss of Business Income Claims: Common Complexities and Issues
Presented by the CBA Alberta Insurance Law (South) Section
The objective of the session is to review the complexities that often arise when determining loss of income claims involving insured business owners (and/or self-employed individuals). By beginning with a review of the primary components inherent in all loss of income claims (i.e., business owners and non-business owners), we will identify and discuss the common issues that arise when calculating a business owner’s loss of income claim, and review ways to ensure the business owner’s loss of income claim had not been obscured by the myriad of non-accident related factors that regularly affect businesses.
