Crown and Defence Tips and Practical Considerations in Litigating Charter Issues
Presented by the CBA Alberta Criminal Justice (South) Section
Both Mr. Johnston and Ms. Sitar bring to the table a wealth of experience in litigating complex Charter issues. In this seminar they will be providing key tips and practical considerations for litigating Charter issues from the perspective of the Crown and the Defence. The focus will be on pre-litigation notice requirements, how to elicit an evidentiary record, the substantive legal arguments that can be made and the remedies that can be sought. With 40 years of Charter litigation there is much to discuss!
