5th Annual Spring Roundtable
Presented by the CBA Alberta Immigration Law (South) Section
We are excited to announce our section’s 5th Annual Spring Roundtable! This year’s event will focus on the impact of current and proposed federal and provincial changes to immigration and its impact in Alberta, including potential changes to immigration policies expected to arise from Alberta’s upcoming referendum on October 19, 2026.
Moderated by Jatin Shory, the current Chair of the CBA National Immigration Section, this panel is sure to be an informative, and topical discussion featuring several different perspectives through a number of stakeholders in Alberta, including Enrique Sobalvarro, Manager of the Refugee Claimants Program at the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (“CCIS”); Akshay Gulati, founder of the non-profit TechConnect; and, Dr. Bronwyn Bragg, Assistant Professor at the University of Lethbridge.
This event is intended as a social and networking event to meet other immigration lawyers and representatives in our community. Appetizers and refreshments will be served, and the event will be held at the Ranchmen’s Club in Calgary. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the panel will start at 5:30 p.m.
