Standing in Alberta’s Environmental and Resource Proceedings: Recent Cases and Trends

Presented by the CBA Alberta Natural Resources (South) Section & Environmental Law (South) Section

Who gets a say in Alberta's energy and environmental decisions? Standing remains one of the most contested gatekeeping issues in regulatory and judicial arenas, with implications for public trust, project timelines, judicial economy, regulatory efficiency, and the integrity of decision making. This session will examine recent trends and notable cases concerning standing to participate in regulatory and court proceedings.
