Certified Professional Lawyer Coach, Allison Wolf, will kick off the WLF Retreat weekend with a dynamic and interactive discussion on Breaking Barriers of Self. The goal is not only to survive but to thrive.

An all-women judiciary panel with a wide range of experience will provide insightful discussion of their experiences as members of the judiciary, the barriers facing women on the bench and how they have and continue to overcome them.

Taruna Agrawal, RISE Women's Legal Centre
Executive Director, Raji Mangat, from West Coast Legal Education and Action Fund (West Coast LEAF) and Family Advocate Support Line Lawyer, Taruna Agrawal from Rise Women’s Legal Centre speak about some of their recent work and collaboration on projects, cases and indicators of success which cultivate a new way of practicing law. Breaking barriers of practice is about supporting the development of practice and how lawyers practice through critical reflection.

Madam Justice Palbinder Kaur Shergill, Supreme Court of British Columbia
Our esteemed keynote speaker, BC Supreme Court Madame Justice Palbinder Kaur Shergill, will define the essence of breaking barriers by recounting some of the personal and professional barriers she has encountered and prevailed from, on her journey to becoming a BC Supreme Court judge. She will also consider and impart some of the lessons and wisdoms she has gathered along the way.
