Krisha Dhaliwal and Delia Jane Ramsbotham will provide participants with an introduction to legal issues arising in intercountry adoptions.

Speaker Bios

Krisha Dhaliwal is an Associate Lawyer at Larlee Rosenberg in Vancouver, BC. Her practices specializes in complex family immigration matters, LGBTQ+ immigration, identity document issues, and employment-driven immigration. In 2020, Krisha completed an LLM at the University of Toronto, wherein she researched intercountry adoption law in Canada and international children’s rights.

Delia Jane Ramsbotham is a lawyer and the Managing Director of Sunrise Family Services Society, a licenced adoption agency in BC.  In her role at Sunrise, she coordinates intercountry adoptions, both pursuant to the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption, and from non-Hague countries.  Delia also has a law practice focusing on finalizing adoptions at the BC Supreme Court.  In 2001, Delia graduated from the UBC Law School.  She articled at the BC Court of Appeal, and completed a CBA internship in Namibia, before practicing in the areas of family law and child protection.
