About Diversity on the Bench

This virtual event aims to encourage a diversity of applications to the bench, demystify the Judicial application and appointment process, and draw together a community of lawyers and judges who care that the composition of our judiciary reflects the society it serves.

Chief Judge Melissa Gillespie and Justice Brenda Brown open this year's virtual event with discussions about the judicial appointment process.

The Honourable Justices David M. Masuhara, Justice Palbinder Kaur Shergill and JudgeTina Dion come together to share stories about their journey to the bench, reflecting on their experiences and discussing the importance of a representative judiciary.

Acknowledging First Nations Territories
This webinar is hosted by CBABC, which is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam First Nations. We encourage our members to explore the rich history and knowledge of Indigenous people, and to continue learning about their experience in Canada, past and present.
