Veen Aldosky, Defence Counsel
Time: Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 6:00pm - 7:00pm (PT)

Synopsis

Join us for an interesting and informative discussion about the nexus between criminal and immigration law. The panelists bring a great deal of experience and insight in both practice areas. They will speak about the law as it relates to immigration consequences flowing criminal convictions, and the potential risk of deportation related to non-convictions in light of the recent Federal Court of Appeal decision in Mason. The session will provide helpful practice tips for advocating for an accused with precarious status in Canada, from opening a file to sentencing.

Territorial Acknowledgement
This event will be broadcast from the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations.
