SYNOPSIS

Thinking about becoming a principal to an articling student?  Want to up your game to be an excellent mentor?

A successful articling or summer term experience depends on two key things:

1) a student and principal working together to meet the requisite skills and training criteria for admission to practice;
2) a term that prioritizes the professional and personal growth of the student throughout the process.

Our experienced panel spoke about what it takes to create an experience that helps students define their professional career path while helping you deliver on client service.

Learn about how to get to know the person behind your student, and how to deliver a work experience that sets clear expectations and development goals, offers meaningful feedback opportunities, and supports the student’s health and well-being in the process. Our panel also shared how to move beyond the LSBC Articling Checklist and into a collaborative work relationship with your student(s) that supports their growth and adaptability and will increase the likelihood of them staying with you as an associate.
