ONLINE MEETING: Annual Senior Women Lawyers Dinner
This meeting is being hosted by the Women Lawyers Forum.

The BC Women Lawyers Forum is pleased to present the Annual Senior Women Lawyers Dinner virtually on March 23. We encourage you to order from your favorite restaurant, pour a beverage of your choice, and enjoy dinner with your fellow attendees.  We will welcome guest speaker Jennifer Wade, human rights advocate.

We look forward to seeing everyone at what we have no doubt will be a fabulous evening.

Speaker Bio

Jennifer Wade is a long-time human rights advocate.  Her involvement in human rights issues began in the 60’s while she was studying in England.  She worked for the Civil Rights movement in the United States and has spent years helping those in need and those facing injustices who are often unable to speak for themselves.  Jennifer is a founding member of Amnesty International in Vancouver and has worked not only on behalf of prisoners of conscience all over the world, but has also been a public spokesperson and champion for prisoners’ rights, children-in-care and people facing injustices.  She is a recipient of the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, British Columbia Civil Liberties Reg Robson Award, Renate Shearer Human Rights Award, an Honorary Doctor of Letters from the University of New Brunswick for international justice work and the Order of BC in 2017.

This event will be broadcast from the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam First Nations. We encourage members to explore the rich history and knowledge of Indigenous people, and to continue learning about their experience in Canada past and present.
