About the Speakers
Diane Bell KC is a Partner with Clark Wilson. Diane was called to the Bar in 1985, and is well known as a Mediator in Family and Commercial cases. Since 2011 she has been recognized as Best Lawyer in Canada for Commercial Mediation, Family and Dispute Resolution. In Vancouver, she has been awarded Lawyer of the Year in Family Law, Family Mediation and ADR. She is a highly and repeatedly recommended lawyer in Family Law by L’Expert legal directory. She has leant herself to leadership roles with CBA, CBABC, Mediate BC, Family Mediation Canada and the Pension Division Project Committee of the BC Law Institute. She is also a valued contributor to CLE publications for our profession , as well for PLTC and an Editor of Financial Aspects for the Family Law Sourcebook via the BC Law Institute.
Craig Neville KC was a long time partner and is now Associate Counsel with Watson Goepel. Craig is recognized for > 35 years as a leading Family lawyer, and much sought after Parenting Coordinator and Family Law Mediator. Called to the Sask Bar in 1981 and the BC Bar in 1986, Craig is an abundant contributor to CLE. Craig is a founding member and former President of the BC Parenting Coordinators Roster Society, a former Member of the Board of ADRBC, a Member of Family Mediation Canada, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and of course CBA. Craig is recognized amongst Best Lawyers in Canada for Family Law and Family Law Mediation, and has received numerous awards for his work with Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver.
Nicole Garton is founder and principal of Heritage Law since 2003, and President of Heritage Trust established in 2018. Nicole was called to the Bar in 2001 and completed a Masters of Laws in ADR from Osgoode Hall in 2019. Nicole’s legal practice focuses on wills and estates and family law. She is past chair of the CBA wills and Trusts section, and a member of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP), the Estate Planning Council of BC, the BC Collaborative Roster Society, the Civil and Family Rosters of Mediate BC and the BC Parenting Coordinator Roster Society. Nicole is a Chartered Mediator and certified by Family Mediation Canada as a Comprehensive Family Mediator. Nicole is also a certified Family Enterprise Advisor. She has authored several books and founds and leads the North Shore Pro Bono Co-Mediation Practicum project, as well as volunteering her time fin many other leadership roles with community non-profit organizations including the Vancouver Foundation.
