Synopsis

Sharon Cartmill-Lane, Jessica Thomson, and Charlene Cleary discuss ethical issues facing workplace investigators. They examine fact scenarios that give rise to ethical issues in the course of an investigation. Some examples include: the appropriateness of searching for outside evidence; how to balance empathy with neutrality; consideration of our reputations as investigators; disclosure of sensitive personal information; the impact of parallel proceedings, and how to simultaneously preserve the client relationship while maintaining independence.

Jacqueline Beltgens will be moderating the panel.
