Synopsis

Dr. Peter Chan shares his insights on capacity assessments from the clinician's perspective. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and raise issues from their experiences obtaining and using cognitive assessments. 

About the Speaker

Dr. Peter Chan is a geriatric psychiatrist and has practiced since 1996 at Vancouver General Hospital, primarily in the elder care medical units. He is a full clinical professor in the UBC Department of Psychiatry. He is recognized locally, provincially, and nationally for his expertise in psychiatric conditions pertaining to seniors, and is also an academic author, lecturer, and researcher. He has a special interest in capacity assessments and has been involved in assessing those who are cognitively impaired for medicolegal purposes in both the public and private sectors.
