Do dogs have Charter rights in Canada? In this session, Rebeka Breder provides an overview of her recent case involving a dog on death row. Rebeka brought the first successful Charter of Rights application in Canada on behalf of a dog owner, whose dog, Enzo, was seized by animal control for allegedly biting and injuring a contractor who had entered onto their property. She discusses the twists and turns of these proceedings while Enzo had been detained at the local pound since April 10, 2024. Does this mean that Enzo is now saved from death row?
