SYNOPSIS
Many people are curious about reconciliation and seek ways to participate, but a shortage of trustworthy information brings more questions than answers. Even with the best intentions, we can’t effectively support Indigenous Peoples if we don’t know what needs to be done.
Dr. Bruce McIvor, lawyer, historian and author of Indigenous Rights in One Minute: What You Need to Know to Talk Reconciliation, answers 100 fundamental questions about reconciliation, asked by Canadians across the country. Learn why the courts and government’s approach to reconciliation frustrates Indigenous Peoples and how, together, we can make meaningful change.

About Dr. Bruce McIvor
Dr. Bruce McIvor is a partner at First Peoples Law LLP and a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation. His work includes both litigation and negotiation on behalf of Indigenous Peoples, and he is recognized as a leading practitioner of Aboriginal law in Canada.
Bruce holds a law degree, a Ph.D. in environmental history and is a Fulbright Scholar. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia’s Allard School of Law where he teaches the constitutional law of Aboriginal and Treaty rights.
