Synopsis
As Canada's population ages, an area of concern is systemic societal prejudice and discrimination against older adults, known as "ageism." In this talk, Helene Love, The Centre for Restorative Justice, Simon Fraser University, discusses the results of a study where she analyzed nearly 900 civil judgments where judges assess witnesses to see if older age relates to judges' assessments of general credibility, sincerity, reliability or to the weight given to witness statements.
