Offering legal services within a small firm or on a limited scope basis frequently leads to requests for "out-of-scope" services or the identification of client needs that fall outside the scope of the initial retainer. Daria BatkinDeborah Labun, and Marta Davidson discuss their experience from privacy law, family law and a niche practice in franchise law to relate techniques and tips for managing client expectations, protecting client interests and attending to the business side of things.
