SYNOPSIS

While a big firm relies on an HR professional to manage recruitment, solo and small firm lawyers don’t have the same luxury. This responsibility lies with you and with every hire shaping your reputation, having the right approach is critical.

Reduce risk and save time with practical hiring processes that sustain your firm’s growth and seamlessly integrate new additions to your team.

ABOUT OUR GUEST SPEAKERS

Sundeep Dhaliwal

Sundeep received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997 with a specialization in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. She received her Bachelor of Laws in 2001 from the University of British Columbia where she also served as the associate editor for the Canadian Journal of Family Law. After spending two summers as the Labour Relations summer student with the City of Surrey she articled with the firm Harris and Company. Sundeep was called to the Bar of British Columbia in September 2002.

Sundeep takes an active part in community life and has served on the board of West Coast Sikh Youth Alliance, Sikh Students' Association of UBC, Sikhs For Cancer, and Pre-Law Society of UBC, as well as other community service organizations.

Sarah Banner

With nearly two decades of HR experience spanning pure start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, Sarah has served as an HR Executive, Centre of Excellence Leader, and HR Business Partner many times over. Her career has reinforced a simple truth: any organization, regardless of size or industry, can benefit from a high-performance culture and a world-class employee experience when supported by the right leadership, structure, and people practices. She believes HR should be creative, not prescriptive, and that excellent employee programs and development opportunities shouldn’t be limited to organizations with the most resources.

This belief led her to create Banner HR, an industry-agnostic consulting firm that helps organizations of all sizes deliver best-in-class HR projects, services, and change management.
