Breaking it Down: Calculating and Incorporating Efficiencies 2.0

March 2, 2021 | 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Eastern
Online (Zoom)

Building on our 1.0 program, join us for a 2.0 program focused on the practical nuts and bolts of calculating and incorporating efficiencies in merger review. This session will work through an illustrative fact pattern and discuss a number of common issues that arise when analyzing efficiencies. Our team of experienced panelists from the Competition Bureau and private sector will speak to:

•    How to determine the difference between “synergies” and efficiencies;
•    How efficiencies are commonly analyzed and calculated;
•    How the Competition Bureau evaluates efficiencies claims; and
•    How efficiencies are incorporated into the section 96 trade-off analysis.
