Access to justice for the LGBTQIA+ community

At this session, a panel of speakers who practice law in French will address the challenges faced by clients who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community.  Among the topics discussed will be issues of interest to trans* and non-binary people and their families, the ongoing debates in Canada regarding the rights of underage students to choose their pronouns in the school environment, the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ realities in the school curriculum, the recognition of multi-parent families, and some of the issues raised in the world of work with regard to LGBTQIA+ employees.  Panelists will also address the use of non-binary pronouns in French in the context of legal practice, and discuss the impact of their LGBTQIA+ identity on their career paths.
