CBA-NL Tax Law
CBA-NL Tax Law: Duking it out with the CRA
Description
This lunch and learn will provide a practical overview of the key considerations when a taxpayer finds themselves in dispute with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Topics will include limitation periods, managing and responding to audits, preserving appeal rights, and the procedural and substantive aspects of filing objections and pursuing appeals to the Tax Court of Canada. The discussion will also address the CRA’s Voluntary Disclosures Program and taxpayer relief provisions, highlighting when and how these tools may be effectively used to mitigate penalties, interest, and enforcement risk.
Designed as a practical, issue-spotting session, this program will equip lawyers with a clearer understanding of how to advocate for taxpayers and navigate disputes with the CRA in a strategic and informed manner.
