DESCRIPTION:
The Access to Justice and Law Reform Institute is consulting with lawyers and members of the public on proposed parentage laws for Nova Scotia. Parentage laws locate a child's parents from birth, and have important legal implications across a variety of subject areas. In this consultation, the Institute will be speaking with the CBA-NS Aboriginal Law section to explore how parentage laws interact with Aboriginal Law, including topics such as the acquisition of status under the Indian Act.
