Prosecuting and Defending Firearms Offences - Common Issues

This presentation will provide an overview of the most common evidentiary issues in prosecuting and defending firearms offences, including: what is a firearm; proving an item is a firearm; proving authorization; and, proving possession. This overview will be followed by a presentation by Mr. Labori of the Specialized Firearms Support Services on privately manufactured firearms. Mr. Labori will provide an overview of the most common types of privately manufactured firearms and, in particular, 3D printed firearms and the emerging trends in that area.
