The Family Conference offers family members a way to constructively and pro-actively talk about topics that matter to them, such as inheritance issues, succession planning or elder care. It has the potential to ameliorate or prevent conflicts that can escalate into costly and painful legal battles.
This process-oriented session - which applies to a wide range of legal and non-legal contexts -will cover:
- The "case" for The Family Conference
- Difficult scenarios: The "evil" stepmother; the incapable parent; the dreaded family cottage....
- How to convene a Family Conference
- Identifying the hoped-for outcome and how to achieve it
- Facilitation versus Fantasy: The limits to the facilitator's role
- Fair process: why turn-taking and mere talk are not enough
- How individual coaching can make a difference
