It's 5 o'clock and you get a call from a client saying their tanker truck just rolled over. Fuel is spilling into a creek, the nearby residents are being evacuated and the 401 is closed both ways. Do you feel comfortable advising your client on their emergency response measures and dealing with the Ministry of the Environment and police? Our legal expert will discuss strategies for managing environmental crises arising out of transportation incidents, including how to gather information about what went wrong, how to manage the inevitable investigations by the authorities, how to field calls from the media, and contractual considerations. Other experts will discuss what needs to be done by the first responders and how to ensure an appropriate plan is in place before the crisis. Although geared mainly to the environmental aspects of transportation incidents, this seminar will provide useful insights for responding to and managing all types of environmental incidents.
