OBA Law Practice Management PROGRAM | 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM
Millennial lawyers are entering the time in their careers to be eligible to apply for partnership, but few are interested in becoming a partner. As the number of potential partners shrink, competition is not as rampant and the quality of candidates may not be as strong. Join our discussion to explore what can be done to attract, manage, retain and motivate associates, and encourage the right kind of potential partner candidates. Not every lawyer will be a ‘rain maker’. Not every partner will be a superstar. We will also discuss:
- The path to partnership: do you have transparent criteria that are agreed to by the partners and understood by associates?
- How do you handle ‘career associates’?
- Who makes these decisions at your firm?
