OBA Criminal Justice & Immigration Law PROGRAM | 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Canada’s legalization of the use of cannabis has led to immigration consequences on both sides of the border. Canadian residents travelling to and from the United States are facing increased scrutiny and legal issues at the border. Whether crossing for pleasure or work, clients are increasingly seeking information on their legal rights including what offences may render them inadmissible to the United States, how much discretion do immigration officers have in admitting travellers, and what remedies do travellers have if they are denied entry on either side of the border.
Please join our stellar faculty as they review these and other relevant topics regarding cannabis criminality and crossing the Canada-U.S. border.
