OBA Health PROGRAM | Original Program Date: February 8, 2021

From judges to administrative tribunals, effective advocacy in health law requires the ability to argue before a variety of adjudicators. We will focus on skills and strategies that help practitioners craft persuasive legal arguments before discipline committees. Our keynote speaker will begin the conversation by addressing how advocacy before discipline committees compares to that in civil litigation. Following the keynote, a panel discussion with discipline committee members from three different health colleges will address key opportunities and challenges when presenting evidence before, and making submissions to discipline committees. Participants will have the opportunity to hear unique perspectives from decision-makers, as well as gain practical strategies to improve their tribunal advocacy.
